Identified by W.B., Christie & friends
Identified 18 Sep 2004 by William and Shirley Ross
Confirmed 6 Sep 2011 by Robert L. Jones

From Raymond Canon on 7 Sep 2005: George Pleasance taught boys' vocational studies (wood shop and metal shop). He must have had a long stay at SHS since he was there when I started in 1941. I had him for Grade 9 shop.

From Robert L. Jones of St. Catharines: George was my metal shop teacher. He was also the commanding officer of 37 Simcoe Squadron Air Cadets in 1943 and 1944 when I was a cadet. George was a person to look up to if you were a student. A great guy.

From George's 2 Mar 1987 Simcoe Reformer obituary:
George H. Pleasance died 27 Feb 1987 in Simcoe. He is survived by his wife Janet Wood and daughter Joan and her family. George taught school for 33 years, 28 at SHS. He was an elder of St. Paul's Presbyterian Church, a member of Simcoe Rotary Club, a 32 degree Mason, a Shriner, a school board trustee, and Reeve of the Town of Simcoe. Interment: Collingwood Presbyterian Cemetery.
