Sarah
was the younger sister of Anna Palmerton who married Noah Junior's
older half-brother, Nathaniel. E. A. Owen says Noah and Sarah had
two daughters, both died young. Subsequent researchers claimed
they had three, although that has never been proven and seems
impossible without illegitimacy, given Noah's early death. A stone
for daughter Amoret in Hillcrest Cemetery at Forestville says she died 22 May 1858, age 17 years 5 months. If true, Amoret
was born more than a year after her father died. Next to Amoret's stone is another which is largely unreadable today.
Other researchers say it is for Cynthia, wife of Hiram Gee, second
daughter of N. & S. Palmerton. I have been unable to verify
that. Jacob was a comparatively small man, known for his athletic
ability. An early school teacher at St. Williams & elsewhere,
ensign in the militia, he lived south of Walsh (Lot 10, Concession
1, Charlotteville) was township bailiff for years. After Sarah died
he went to Chicago to live with his daughter Martha.
