HARTFORD
The 16th concession
was the scene of an interesting time last Thursday evening at the
home of Geo. Sloat. About 65 friends of Mr. and Mrs. A. Giles
gathered to show their friendship to them and were loaded with
many useful present for the newly married couple. It was a variety
shower.
A splendid time was spent
by the young people on the lawn, while some of the older ones
stayed inside and visited. A number of speeches were made and lots
of good advice given to Mr. and Mrs. Giles. After the
presentation, Mrs. Giles responded in a neat speech, thanking all
for their thoughtfulness and good wishes.
