In Memoriam

Died, at his home on Alice Street, Waterford, on Sunday night, 13 Nov 1921, William Caldwell, aged 68 years.

Mr. Caldwell was born at Lakefield, Ontario, and for a time lived at Kinmount. Coming to Waterford in 1903, he commenced in business as proprietor of the Caldwell House where he has been at home in a very real way to his friends and the travelling public ever since.

He was a man of rare home loving instinct and his house is known far and wide for its cheerful homelike character. Gracious, kind, quiet and genial to stranger, friend and loved one, he will long remain a cherished memory to all who knew him.

The funeral was held from his late residence on Tuesday afternoon. The service was conducted by the Rev. F. G. Rickard, rector of Trinity Anglicana church, of which he was a sincere and devoted member, assisted by the Rev. Jas. Ward, of St. John's, Woodhouse, a former pastor.

He leaves to mourn his loss a wife, five daughters: Mrs. Elmer Ramey of Simcoe, Misses Leta, Gladys, Phyllis and Kathleen, and one son, Frederick, at home; one sister, Mrs. Charlton of Lakefield, and two brothers, James and Dr. Robert Caldwell, both in B.C.

Floral tributes of exquisite beauty and profusion were received as tokens of love and appreciation.

Relatives from out of town included: Mr. Jas. Scott of Peterboro; Mrs. C. Rawilson and son Clifford and daughter, Mrs. C. Jones, Mrs. Alexander Watson,  Mr. Percy Chessel of Toronto; Mrs. Jack Wilson of Brampton; Mr. Elmer Ramey of Simcoe.

Friends from Simcoe included Mr. Emerson Ramey, Miss Gladys Ramey, and Mr. Alfred Benwell.
