Two Boys
Drowned.
Port Rowan, 4 Oct 1901 --
Two boys, Clarence Rockafellow [sic] and Arthur Bantum [sic],
went out on a small clinker during a heavy gale on Wednesday
morning to shoot ducks, and have not been seen since.
Their boat was found
filled with water, about two miles out from the shore, anchored,
with a vest and pair of shoes in it.
On Thursday a party spent
all day dragging the bay, and failed to recover the bodies.
A pair of pants, a pair of
shoes, and a gun were brought up from the bottom of the bay near
where the boat was found.
The boys' ages
respectively were 16 and 14.
