William
Chrysler passed away at his late residence in Windham Centre on
Tuesday 20 Oct 1953, in his 90th year. A son of the late Michael
Chrysler and Rebecca Dent, he was born at Cayuga on 7 Mar 1864. He
received his education at Boston public school and moved to Windham
Centre where he had resided for 65 years.
A millwright by trade, Mr.
Chrysler operated a shingle, heading and lumber mill for a number of
years before taking up truck gardening, from which he retired at the
age of 80. He was a member of the Windham Centre United Church and has
served on the Board of Stewards. It was principally through Mr.
Chrysler's that sidewalks were constructed in Windham Centre several
years ago. He was a staunch Conser-vative, and although an invalid,
insisted on voting in the recent Federal election.
His wife, the
former Alice Croft, having predeceased him 35 years ago, he is surviv-ed
by one son, Austin Chrysler of Rainey River; two daughters, Sarah, Mrs.
Henry Abraham of Stratford, and Miss Alice Chrysler at home; six
grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. Two sons, Charles and
Francis predeceased him.
Mr. Chrysler is
resting at Mott Brothers' Funeral Home, Waterford, where service will be
held on Friday afternoon, 23 Oct 1953, at 2.30 o'clock, with interment
in Windham Centre Cemetery.
