Private Arnold R. Wood

Private Arnold R. Wood died on the 29th of  June at Basingtoke England. 

He enlisted at Simcoe with the 133rd Battalion and had been in France for nine months when he was taken ill in the trenches, operated upon for mastoid abscess and sent to England, where he suffered a relapse and died after a second operation.

His parents, whose home is in London, were able to be with him.

Private Wood will be remembered here, as in May 1914 he came from England to his relatives, Mr. and Mrs. Owen Stone, and remained in the neighborhood of Walsh until he enlisted.

His parents speak in the highest terms of the great skill displayed by the medical staff of the hospital, and also of the untiring and skillful services of the nursing staff. All who have sons and friends in this hospital, or who may later be patients there, may rest assured that all that skill, science and patient nursing can do, will be done for them.
